When You Don’t Have the Words, Ask God
With Charlie Kirk’s passing, many hearts are heavy. He was a bold voice in a world that desperately needs truth. Now people look around and think, “Who will step up next? Could it be me?” But almost as quickly as that thought comes, fear follows. “What if I don’t have the words? What if I fail?”
That same fear gripped Jeremiah when God called him. His reply was honest:
“Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child” (Jeremiah 1:6 KJV).
Jeremiah didn’t feel ready. He didn’t feel capable. Yet God’s response was firm:
“Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. Then the Lord put forth His hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth” (Jeremiah 1:8–9 KJV).
God Still Gives Words Today
Those who admired Charlie Kirk’s boldness may fear they’ll never measure up. But the truth is, Charlie wasn’t the source of his own strength. And neither are you. The same God who touched Jeremiah’s lips is ready to equip anyone willing to stand and speak.
Your job isn’t to have every sentence polished or every answer prepared. Your job is to be available. God has promised to fill your mouth with the right words at the right time.
Carrying the Torch Forward
Charlie Kirk’s voice may be silent now, but the call to truth is not. It will take everyday men and women, filled with God’s Spirit, to step into the gap. Do not let fear keep you quiet. If God has placed a burden on your heart, trust Him to give you the words.
A Prayer for the Fearful
Lord, I feel the weight of this moment. Fear tells me I am not ready, but I believe You are with me. Touch my lips as You did Jeremiah’s. Put Your words in my mouth, and give me the boldness to stand when the world needs truth. Amen.
